The design of the iCare ST500 makes IOP measurement an integral part of standard slit lamp procedures. It is compatible with the majority of the most common slit lamps with 8 mm hole in their rotation axis. The slit lamp mounted design creates optimal patient positioning, minimizing the need for repositioning and maximizing the efficiency of clinical workflow.

The iCare ST500 does not require fluorescent dye or a disinfection procedure. The gentle rebound touch of a disposable probe makes the IOP measurement barely noticeable to the patient, with no harm to the cornea and no impact on later diagnostics. An efficient examination process can be performed easily with minimal staff training and without long patient preparation. 

Clinical validation of the iCare ST500 indicates a high agreement of IOP measurements to Applanation Tonometry.  The calibration-free rebound technology, promptly displayed results and slit lamp mounted design of the iCare ST500 eliminate subjectivity and optimize patient positioning, improving measurement accuracy and ensuring highly reproducible and repeatable results
